From 18 to 21 November, the exhibition ‘Féerie Florale’ took place in Belgium. The best flower arrangers in the country showed festive floral creations and Christmas designs in the town hall of the city of Dendermonde. Our Fleur Créatif editor-in-chief An Theunynck visited the event.
Outstanding designs by Belgium’s best florists
On the occasion of the exhibition ‘Féerie Florale’, Belgium’s best florists completely transformed the various halls of the town hall of Dendermonde into a fairy-tale floral haven. The wedding room, the council chamber and also the mayor’s office were barely recognizable.
Established values and emerging talent met each other at the event. The highly talented and passionate florist Stefan Berlo, Belgian champion in flower styling, created a wonderful winter installation. With his eye-catcher, he wanted to overwhelm the visitors from the very first moment. Stefan Van Berlo created a large floral design in the shape of a horseshoe (a reference to the city of Dendermonde). Thousands of Christmas lights and more than 200 flowers were incorporated in his construction.
Among others, our Fleur Créatif designers Chantal Post, Sören Van Laer and Aymeric Chaouche were present. And almost all Flemish training centres for florists cooperated in the exterior decoration of the city hall and the museums. These florists also contributed to the floral spectacle: Olivier Seghin, Robin Van Nuffelen, Tim Beyens, Kristien Tindemans.
