DIY Birch discs and bird food

Help birds survive the winter with this fun DIY idea for a natural bird feeder with birch discs. A design by Fleur Créatif designer Geert Pattyn. Let’s get started!

What you need

  • Betula, discs of birch trunk in different diameters
  • Suet balls (bird feed)
  • Large metal ring (open)

How you make the bird feeder

  • Drill holes in the discs of birch trunk. Make sure you have the right diameter. You also have to pierce the suet balls.
  • Now thread everything alternately on the thick metal rod in the shape of a ring.
  • The ends of the round rod are inserted into a larger piece of birch trunk.
