‘Flowers’ by Miley Cyrus causes rush on flowers

A music track that is driving up flower sales? Miley Cyrus’ new hit ‘Flowers’ is causing a rush on flowers in the UK!

In the song, Miley Cyrus sings “I can buy myself flowers”. Supermarket chain Lidl now communicates that since the release of the hit, on 12 January, they have sold as many as 52% more bouquets, and that number may still rise.

The song has been listened to over 370 million times on Spotify, has been viewed 180 million times on YouTube and is at the top of many charts. In ‘Flowers’, Miley Cyrus sings about the break-up with Liam Hemsworth, but it is mainly that one line that sticks and makes people want flowers.
