Lisianthus is a heart-warming wedding flower. It doesn’t stop at bridal bouquets, hand bridal bouquets and corsages. On the contrary, a wedding in 2021 goes a lot further. It also includes garden decorations, marquees, table decorations and wedding venues. Tiffany Van Lenten, young Dutch talent, inspires with peachy wedding designs in cooperation with 2Dezign.
The theme “Wedding Sweet in Peach” combines peach with white, nude and grey tones. The versatility of the lisianthus is shown to its best advantage.
“The theme Sweet in Peach was a perfect fit for me”, says floral designer Tiffany van Lenten. “I love the romance with beautiful ton-sur-ton colours and it is all one wedding.
“I like to work in a fine and compact way and that is possible with lisianthus. Particularly fun was the making of a body decoration for the shoulder. This one had an organic shape. I used a gluing technique with oasis cold glue and then sprayed the flowers with oasis finishing touch spray. This prolongs the life of the flowers, as the shoulder decoration remained beautiful for about three days. Lisianthus may look fragile, but it is very strong and durable.”
“For the bridal bouquet and the bridesmaids’ bouquets, I came up with different variants. Because the lisianthus is a versatile flower, you can vary endlessly with it. ”
“This also applied to the table vases and the decoration of the chairs. As a backdrop, I had chosen a garland of lisianthus along cloths for a romantic effect. Pink, yellow and orange turned out to be a beautiful combination.”
“Wedding with lisianthus is typically one of those items that allows for a lot of creativity. A large bouquet can also be made to look very sophisticated and romantic by splitting the flowers. But you can also make large theatrical pieces of it. I myself prefer refined work. By gluing the lisianthus to frames, you still get volume. It takes a lot of patience, but the result is beautiful.”
“The diversity of lisianthus also provides a lot of inspiration. I came up with a wrist corsage and a visitation bouquet in which a heart had to be opened and contained a ring. A cushion for the rings with lisianthus in between and a candlestick. You can decorate an infinite number of things with it.”
About the designer | Who is Tiffany van Lenten?
Tiffany van Lenten is, with her 20 years, a young talent in the field of flower design. In April 2019, as a student of Flower & Design at MBO Westland, she won a cheque of 1,000 euros as an incentive prize from the Greenport Food & Flower Xperience Foundation. This was partly because she came second in the national Skills Heroes competitions. Tiffany also managed to qualify for participation in the NK finals through the preliminary rounds. Because of the Covid-19 measures, the NK Flower Arranging has been moved to September 2021. Undoubtedly we are going to hear a lot from Tiffany.
