Violets in the spotlight
Violets are cheerful messengers of spring. They already bring colour very early in the spring. There are many varieties available, from small- to large-flowered, cultivated species and wood violets … The fragrant flowers are also very pretty. In this design, our Fleur Créatif floral designer Moniek Vanden Berghe provides ‘a game of rhythm’.
What do you need?
Botanicals:
- Viola ‘Honey’, plants
- Castanea sativa
Other materials:
- Wooden tray
- Wooden slats
- Wooden box
- Felt, two-tone
- Cling wrap
This is how you make it:
Wrap the plants in cling wrap and tape to make secure. Make shapes of the wooden tray by adhering them longitudinally from one side of coils of veneer to the other side, alternately.
The plants are inserted into the moulds and laid down on the bed of cut chestnut branches, creating a beautiful and interesting rhythm.
