16 florists will compete for the European Floral Art 2022 title. It is not yet known who will be the best candidate to succeed Tamás Mezőffy.
Who is the big favorite ? Belgian competitor Stefan Van Berlo shrugs.
“I don’t know all the candidates… So it’s hard to say, but the favorites are Romania (with Nicu Bocancea), the Netherlands (with Hanneke Frankema), Hungary (with Gábor Nagy) and Germany (with Michael Liebrich). My chances? 1 in 16,” Van Berlo says with a laugh.
In our humble opinion, Stefan Van Berlo and Hanneke Frankema are real contenders for the European title, even if the competition is tough. The Hungarian Gábor Nagy, among others, won the 2017 European Young Florist Championship, Eurofleurs, in Sint-Truiden. The Romanian Nicu Bocancea will be in charge of the big floral achievement at FLEURAMOUR in September. Caroline Crabb from the United Kingdom may surprise as an outsider, just like all the other extremely talented participants.
We wish them all the best! 🙌
